The 114 acre site contains other similar well spaced and attractively positioned individually privately owned detached lodges.  About half of these are periodically rented out to holiday clients, the remainder are used exclusively by their owners for their own use.  The site also has 2 fishing lakes, an 18 hole golf course and a childrens play area.

Red deer roam throughout Hartland Forest. The village of Woolsery, 2 miles away, has a Post Office and general store, fish & chip shop and a bus service to Barnstable. The larger town of Kilkhampton (Cornwall) is about 5 miles away and has a wider range of shops including a well recommended butcher. Closest supermarkets are ASDA near Bideford, Morrisons in Bideford and Morrisons in Bude. Hartland village, Hartland Quay and Hartland Point, all worth visiting are within easy reach.
